the sky spoke to me today

just sitting on the roof

oh the sweetness of doing nothing

fitzgerald's words wrapped me up,

& the cool breeze danced all around

the clouds are grey, like the sidewalk

my pen moves swiftly across the page

& suddenly, there was light

an extraordinary yellow just peeking through

brilliantly popping like stars in the night sky

everything's still.
