Crime & Punishment

"You have long needed a change of air. Suffering, too, is a good thing...fling yourself straight into life, without deliberation; don't be afraid- the flood will bear you to the bank and set you safe on your feet again...Perhaps God is saving you for something." -Dostoyevsky

In stagnancy, there is no growth. In bitterness, there is no jubilation. In secrets, you'll find nothing but poision. In self-destruction, there is no hope. But, all these dark pieces of who we may sometimes be are not chained to us. They can be overcome because in honesty, there is forgiveness. In vulnerability, there is connection. In pain, there are invaluable lessons. In growth, there is power and self-sufficiency. In discomfort, there is bravery. In life, there is love and in Jesus, there is grace. Incomparable and unimaginable grace. Never has it been said in human history that growth or development are a linear process. Imperfection is difficult to embrace and mistakes are hard to swallow, but that's part of humanity. That's part of the beauty within all the brokenness. So, keep growing. Let the people in your life love you. Embrace the perfect imperfectness of who you are. Your mistakes don't define who you are, but are rather a piece of who you are becoming; a chapter in your story. Redemption lies within all of us. While it's not always easy to remember, especially in the midst of chaos, God is forever using you for something.
